GOTS

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard is a collaboration that was introduced in 2006, which strives to find definitions that will be required in the whole world and that will make sure that textiles are organic from crop to product and that social responsibility is implemented for all people involved through all processes. All this to create trustworthiness in the business so it will reach the consumers, consumers should have a possibility of recognizing organic products.

GOTS certification will only be presented on products that have at least 70% organic fibres. Chemicals that are included in the product and in the process of making are required to be free from toxic substances according to environmental criteria’s. Trims that are included in the product also have to follow certain criteria’s. There has to be a system used for wastewater for all wet processes within all production units. 

GOTS ensure their certification by thoroughly double check and have a quality system that ensures its trustworthiness. The certification has requirements on the finished product in terms of quality.
